John Bush (vocals) states: "When we began talking about a new record I told Joey Vera (bass) to pretend we were a really huge band and that we could do anything we wanted. At least that was the mindset we should have, from the writing to the production. What came out was Win Hands Down, which is our first record in five years. There's everything from classic ARMORED SAINT rocker songs to epic songs and we all dug deep deliver something special. If we weren't going to, then we shouldn't have bothered. I'm glad we did. In May we are doing some shows in the States with Saxon. It's a great way to get the ball rolling."

Vera further comments: "We're very excited about our new record coming out in June! We've been writing over the past year and half and we feel like we've written some amazing music. We can't wait to share it! To get our whistle's wet, we're super excited about doing some warm up gigs before the record release with the legendary Saxon this May! We're doing a total of six shows between the East Coast, Texas, West Coast and we couldn't think of a better way to start off the summer! See you all soon."

pro pain voice of rebellion

Aggressive, meticulous, passionate, righteous - all distinguishing traits that have come to symbolize the fundamentals of metal/hardcore pioneers PRO-PAIN.  Since their crushing 1992 NAIRD nominated debut album Foul Taste Of Freedom, PRO-PAIN have become a staple in the diets of heavy music listeners around the globe.  Their successful and enviable career has perpetually prospered throughout its course, and yet they still manage to find room to improve, and more importantly, impress.  Each and every PRO-PAIN album is a paragon of intensity, inspiration, honesty and unwillingness to compromise.  Their latest (and 15th) studio effort entitled Voice Of Rebellion is a testament to those very same qualities.
Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Corey Williams at Sound Lounge Recordings (Venice, Florida), Voice Of Rebellion features 14 punishing tracks which are sure to satisfy die-hard fans and new fans alike.  Production credits are shared by Williams and PRO-PAIN main man Gary Meskil.  "This time around, I decided to get back into assisting with certain aspects of production, and we are thrilled with the end result.  Corey is a young and talented engineer/producer, and the sonic brutality we collectively achieved speaks for itself (in my opinion)" says Meskil.
The album kicks off with a blistering and infectious title track (which is destined to become a PRO-PAIN classic).  Songs like No Fly Zone and Age Of Disgust take the listener back to the bands groove laden glory days, while new ground gets forcefully broken with tracks such as Hellride and Souls On Fire.  The entire spectrum of the bands musical influences are proudly displayed and are tastefully explored within the contents of this explosive album.  Lead guitarist Adam Phillips states:  "The writing process for Voice Of Rebellion was a complete collaborative effort, unlike it's predecessor.  So, the end result is a multi-dimensional onslaught of heaviness".   Meskil adds, "This is a definitive album for PRO-PAIN, as it speaks very well for us with regard to who we are and what we represent as a band".
Formed by vocalist/bassist Gary Meskil (ex-Crumbsuckers), New York-based PRO-PAIN have over the years benefited from substantial support from an ever-growing and loyal fan base, the Metal Press, Hard Rock Radio, and MTV's Headbanger's Ball.  With band mates Marshall Stephens (Rhythm Guitar), Adam Phillips (Lead Guitar) and Drummer Jonas Sanders, the band are set to tour the US and Europe extensively in support of Voice Of Rebellion, as their collective catalog sales surpass one million units sold!
Voice Of Rebellion will be released through SPV/Steamhammer June 23rd in North America, and will be available in the following configurations:

bulletboys elefante

The BULLETBOYS are back and ready to tear the house down with their new MASSIVE release ELEFANTE on Cleopatra/Deadline Records, June 9th 2015. This long awaited album shows that the BULLETBOYS are unstoppable with their grinding hard rock. Singer Marq Torien's vocals hit every note with the power that is his trademark. “Can't wait for our fans to hear this album. I put my heart and soul into this music,” exclaims lead singer Marq Torien. “This album has sick peaks and valleys ... it is NOT a linear album. A straight out labor of love that I've dedicated to my amazing father, all of our Families and our unfaltering BULLETBOYS fans and friends.”
The band consists of founding member Marq Torien (Vocals/Lead Guitar), Nick Rozz (Guitar), Chad MacDonald (Bass) and Shawn Duncan (Drums). All members pouring their heart and soul into the group’s first album of original material since 2009. ELEFANTE was produced by Matt Thorne (Trapt/Disturbed), Marq Torien and engineered by Ryan Greene (Alice Cooper/Lita Ford/Cheap Trick/Usher). The great Anthony Focx (Miley Cyrus/Aerosmith/Santana/Buckcherry) mastered this new work of art. “Working with the Bulletboys was an amazing experience,” explains Ryan Greene. “Most singers, from back in the 80's, were pretty good but I will tell you Marq knocked it out of the park on this record. His power and passion was second to none and he can sing in tune! No auto-tune needed, he's the real freak’n deal.  If you think for a second this is going to be some rehashed 80's record you are completely wrong!

blatant disarray the harbinger

Raleigh, NC thrash metallers Blatant Disarray have released their first video from the new album, "The Harbinger". The video was directed by Blake Faucette.

When asked about the theme of the video guitarist and singer Mike Schaefer commented "Its kind of our take on the state of the music scene recently. It is also an attempt to make fun of ourselves. Sometimes metal videos are just too serious and dark and shit, we wanted to do the opposite of that."

Dirt Records is set to release the new album on May 13th, 2014. Pre orders are open now via and iTunes.

The new album was recorded at Mike Schaefer’s own studio, Schaefer Sound Productions, in Raleigh, NC from March 2013 to January 2014. Over that 11 month time period, Schaefer personally produced, engineered, and mixed the record. When asked about the decision to take such a large role in the production process Schaefer said: “I’m not sure if I recommend it to be honest. There were a number of times throughout the process when I thought it was just a bad, bad idea and I should really be paying someone else to do this. In music, nothing is ever perfect. You have to be willing to let it go at some point and be happy with what you’ve captured. That can be tough when you wear so many hats. Now that it’s done, I am very happy we chose to do it this way. It has definitely been a great experience.

The Harbinger” shows a definite progression in the band’s sound. This is due in part to the addition of two new members to the band during the writing process for the album: drummer Trey McLamb, and bassist Patrick Strickland. These two musicians brought a new energy and style to the band that is palpable in the new recording. A number of special guest performances push this new sound even further, including guest vocals by Reed Mullin of Corrosion of Conformity on “Arise” and “Born in a Body Bag”.

After taking a two-year break from the music scene to cope with the loss of original drummer and friend, Tim Worrell, Blatant Disarray has picked up where they left off, determined to make 2014 the best year in their 12 year career. Guitarist Ryan Johnson added, “It was a tough couple of years, and I honestly didn’t know if the band would continue. But the passion for music dies hard, therefore we die hard and keep fighting the good fight. We hope you join us for the ride.

Bob Welch, a guitarist who played with Fleetwood Mac before launching a solo career, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his chest, Nashville, Tennessee, police said Thursday. He was 66. Welch's wife found his body in their Nashville home about 12:15 p.m., Nashville Police spokesman Don Aaron said.
"All indications are that it was a suicide," Aaron said. A suicide note was found, he said.

Welch played guitar with Fleetwood Mac starting in 1971. He left the group in late 1974, just before Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined the group.
Nicks said in a statement that Welch's death was "devastating."
"I had many great times with him after Lindsey and I joined Fleetwood Mac," singer Nicks said. "He was an amazing guitar player -- he was funny, sweet -- and he was smart.
"I am so very sorry for his family and for the family of Fleetwood Mac -- so,so sad,
" Nicks said.
Welch's biggest hits, "Sentimental Lady" and "Ebony Eyes" came from his debut solo album "French Kiss," released in November 1977.

South Carolina's own ISABELLE'S GIFT have released their first official video for the lead track off their recently released Possession With Intent entitled Million Dollar Joke.

Away-Team reviewed the album and you can see why we gave it 8 out of 10 and why we said that while it is early in the year, this may be the album to beat for Album of the Year (it will most certainly be in our top two or three by years end easily). You can read our review here.
